The South African Communist Party's General Secretary Solima Baila has launched the party's Red October campaign in the Eastern Cape, setting the tone for its first direct contest in the upcoming local government elections. The campaign has focused on mobilizing workers and poor communities around economic and political issues as the SACP prepares to.
Contest the local government elections independently of the ANC. The SACP has also used the launch to explain its stance on the economy and why it is appealing to the working class. Mapaila has encouraged people, especially the working class, to make their vote count on election day. The most important thing is to encourage them to get the vote for the SACP. As you know, this province is one of the poorest in the country. It's a working class province.
That should take the identity of its class and not support bourgeois parties that have failed them continuously through capitalist measures that do not respond to their living conditions. We are contesting wall to wall in the province and we are quite confident will make a significant impact in this province. And finally, KwaZulu-Natal's Road Traffic and Respectorate has arrived.
