Before edging past Anna Bonder in a thriller. And there was another upset: the 27 seed Barbara Krichigova crashing out to a qualifier. On to the men, we've seen the big names: Felix Auger, Alessem, Alex Demon, and Lorenzi Mossetti all bundled out. But the story of the tournament belonged to Gay Monfiles. The Frenchman turned 40 during his opening round win, and he did, though, bid farewell. He lost to Lerna Tin in round two.

You guys are my second best crowd, of course, after Paris, but you're up there. So thank you so much. I just want to tell you, it's been an absolute honor for me to play all this year in front of you, try my best, try to perform high performance tennis, but also give you a great show.
