With Coach Pizzo speaks of a body of 20 or 40 something plus players that are currently in the system of Pafana, that at some stage of his life he's worked with. But the question that I want to drive to is that you've seen the under-17s go to the World Cup, you've seen the under-20s go to the World Cup. I don't know when last I saw the under-23s play, but that's a subject for another day. How important is it that Coach Pizzo speaks to what Coach Imtaga is doing with the under-20s? What Coach Kumalo?
Is also doing away with the under seventeen? I think that's going to be key and it's something that we've not done well as a country. I mean, even the under twenties that went to the World Cup, when you look at the the talent that stay about talents need, Tatos Mia has now gone to to France. It's it's such a talented generation and Shande was part of that, Bogazi was was part of that group. So when you look at the talent there, it's players that that should be better pr protected.
Some go to the Olympics and some go to Tubafana. And I think it's something that we've not done well for a very long time. I mean, you go back to the team, I think it was in 2019 that played at the Under-20 World Cup, the first South African team to advance to the knockout stage off of a World Cup. The talent that was there was crazy. It was a riro, Charlie, George, Darren Keats. That team, when Ghana won that World Cup, they said the strongest competition.
They face was South Africa. And Ghana progressed those players to the national team. And that's the team that came on and did was 2009. Some of those were at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. But for us, it's something that we've not done really well in terms of the junior ranks. And I think with the way that Peter has worked, especially with his youth football staff, he's someone who appreciates that. And I think he's someone who's going to lead that.
And the fact that he's also able to work with and has the respect of the Tronan National Tim Code is gonna make that work a bit easier to manage. You making reference to 2019 of that great generation, and you are showing your age. Let me show my age now. I'm gonna go back to 2000, Jabulo, when you talk about us. Yes, when you talk about us not doing things properly, remember Maklukluk. Yeah, remember.
