Interconnected with the central substation in the inner city, interrupted supply to the entire central station. This follows a fire which broke out three times at its central substation. Spokesperson Isaac Mangena says that yesterday's supply challenges will not halt restoration efforts and full supply to all remaining affected customers, which is expected to take place by today. That central substation are also continuing and have not been affected.
In terms of the progress of the work there, work remains on several supply lines, including Commissioner Street, Selby Street, Carlton Center, and customers will be restored progressively as supply becomes available and repairs and safety checks are completed. Our restoration target remains on Monday, the 5th of October. And finally, over 5,000 people have been arrested in France following protests.
