Campus this morning. The woman was discovered along the campus fence and was declared dead at the scene. This incident comes as instances of gender-based violence and femicide have come under the spotlight in the country. Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hulani Mashaba says no visible external injuries were found and that an inquest docket has been opened. Police were on patrol duties when they received information about a female lying motionless.

And they rushed to the scene. They found the body partially clothed with a head inside a trench adjacent to the fence. No visible injuries were observed. A bag with her ID and NASFAS card was found next to the body. The emergency medical services team declared her dead at the scene. It is suspected that she may have accidentally fallen into the trench. Police investigations are continuing.
