We could actually do if we do it very well. So we actually have a window of opportunity to choose and design our future. But it's not just about taking the current AI and improving on what we have, having another tool. It's about appreciating the structural change that AI is doing. Let's go to Jeff in Woodmead, wants to give us his thoughts. Jeff, thank you so much for holding. Good morning. Yes, thank you for the opportunity.
I'd just like to firstly applaud Bill Gates because he was one of the guys who, in the beginning, I was like a bit sceptical about. But of the big five, he seems to be the one person who's coming out and actually saying, whoa, wait a moment. But what the doctor mentioned, he said something about technology changes we've had in the past. Yes, we have. But there were technology changes that were to help us do mostly manual things. He said this is mind-blowing.
Not mind-blowing, it's mind capture. And to me, mind capture is where you actually can take a child at two years old, and I saw it the other day holding an iPhone and scrolling through, and the mother on her phone. I'm thinking, wow, that child will be entirely dependent. You know, people say, well, it's so convenient, it's not, it's an addiction. And that's my challenge: is that we are introducing into the world a mind addiction. And if you can
Capture the mind. You know, it was, I think, Saint Augustine said, give me the child for six years, I'll give you the man for the rest of his life. And that means that this AI that we're talking about, oh, it's faster and it can do more things quickly. You know, just the basic principle: you've got a company that's got 40 people, get rid of 38 of them, bring in AI, automation, and then make this statement that, oh, but it's much cheaper. There's two factors there: it might be cheaper and better, well done, but are you paying
Taxes, number one, and the people you've dismissed are unemployed, so they're not going to buy your product. So the business model is completely flawed. And if you look at the six or the five or six big companies that are doing this, that are managing and manipulating the world, they are actually getting more and more and more power to control the media, the governments, the businesses. They will control everything. And we need to start saying, right, because we're just changing.
