Ramaphosa's Phala Phala court bid divides the airwaves
Stations spent much of the day dissecting President Ramaphosa's Western Cape High Court application to overturn the Section 89 panel report on the Phala Phala burglary. On EWN bulletins, advocate Wim Trengove argued that the Public Protector, Reserve Bank, SARS and Parliament's Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence had already cleared the president, while the MK Party's Dali Mpofu urged the court not to undermine Constitutional Court work. Power FM's panel called Arthur Fraser's affidavit "very dodgy" and questioned whether the litigation strengthens accountability or delays impeachment, with SMWX analysts warning of a looming political crisis whichever way judgment lands.
