The anti-gang unit has made a breakthrough in their investigation into the murder of two men in Military Road in Steenberg. Officers arrested five men in possession of unlicensed firearms following a high-speed chase that ended in Lakeside two weeks ago. Among the firearms recovered were two automatic rifles. They appeared before the Wynberg Magistrates Court and the matter was postponed for a formal bail application. And Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia says the state is obliged to foot the bill of Minister Senzo Mchunu's 2.7 million rifles.
