This has put a major strain on the point of view of Israelis today. How are we to trust a two-state solution when, on the other side of the border, there are people that are just waiting to massacre us, kill us, rape us? And so, if you look at the declarations today of the Hamas leadership that is still controlling Gaza, that is still

Still representing a substantial point of view in the Palestinian ideology and in the Palestinian people. They are just talking about when they're going to do another October 7th in Israel. So it's very hard to sit. Well, it's very easy to sit and talk about a two-state solution in a bubble here.

South Africa. But in order for us to get into a solution that could be a one-state solution, a two-state solution, autonomies, again, these are things that have to be discussed between legitimate leaders of the two peoples. And in order for us to get into a viable discussion and not just talking in the air, we need to create trust.

Between the two peoples. And today, especially after October 7th, and the fact that, you know, even the Palestinian Authority refused to denounce the massacre that happened on October 7th. And people all over the world that are calling from the river to the sea are basically supporting the annihilation of the Jewish state and the annihilation of the Jewish people. How is that going to happen?

I don't know. Some of them say throw them to the water. Some of them say send them back to Europe. I don't know. But you know, at the end of the day, the discussions that have been coming up post-October 7th have been not constructive at all in finding solutions. And I think that one of the things that has to be achieved is starting the discussion.

Building trust, doing trust-building measures. And these are things that we are here for as diplomats all over the world and here in South Africa specifically. We need to try and see what we can do and not be forced into this propaganda machine in which there's only one absolute good and one absolute good.
