Power FM, Wednesday evening

That municipalities are really the weakest link in South Africa's economic recovery. And I think that is important. Let me just digress Mosipo and share this very quick story. On Monday, I hosted the group CEO of a German multinational company and two of his executives. They visited South Africa for the first time. Their manufacturing facility in Selby has been sitting without electricity for more than 40 days. Now, imagine how embarrassing it is. We are here.

Trying to demonstrate to these guys how much progress South Africa has made, explaining the reforms that we have implemented at South Africa, the progress that we're making. Eskom is sitting with 500 days without load shedding, and why South Africa remains an attractive investment destination, and yet their own manufacturing facility has been without electricity for more than 40 days. So we are actually, you know, in a very difficult position. And I think that tells you everything about the challenge we face. National progress.
