Cape Talk, Friday night

This is a serious time-sensitive topic. Alan Druma, our guest, the lead cybersecurity engineer at ESET, he's just published a very critical breakdown. It highlights how mainstream smart glasses, like the Meta Ray-Bans, and they sold over 7 million units recently, it's outpacing South African law, governance, and public awareness because they, yeah, they capture high-definition video, essentially, but also audio.

And they even use AI-driven facial recognition entirely in the street. Just tell us, Alan, and welcome. It's great to have you with us. Thank you, Claire. Good to be here. Alan, so you saying technology is outpacing the law, and you suggesting that we should be on guard. I think let us understand what you are flagging. Okay, I think that's the story of technology. It always outpaces the legislation. Legislation, unfortunately, always lags behind. So, in this particular case, it's the case of smart.
