Last Massive Election Poll! Johnson Khan Arrest Update

Which is why this morning my intrusive thought was Seal singing A Kiss from Feroze on the Gray. Not as good as End of the Road at the end of last week, but we'll still be talking about that. Okay, so Andrea Johnson and Feroz Khan were arrested last week and they appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court. They were released on bail of 10,000 rand each, which the state did not oppose. Clearly, they're not stressed about either of these two making a run for it. And I just want to talk fully about the charges because I think a lot of people in the media haven't come.

Covered this fully because I think a lot of people are focusing on defeating the ends of justice. But there is also charges of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and contravening the National Prosecuting NPA Act. So let's talk about this in full. And I'm going to quote NPA spokesperson Kaiser Kanyako exactly so that you know what the NPA is charging them with. So here's what Kaiser Kanyako had to say: it is alleged that on 26 June 2018, Khan Faroes had a serious.

Deputy crime intelligence lead had a serious at the time had a serious argument with his junior SAPS crime intelligence female employee Brigadier Petle. This argument led to a physical confrontation where Khan allegedly attacked the victim with a pen by stabbing her and further hit her with hands and a paper file. Do you know? These are not Kaiser Kenyako's words, these are mine. If that is true, do you know how insane that is? Being stabbed with a pen and hit with hands and a paper file. What kind

Of slapstick nonsense is this at a workplace between a deputy head of crime intelligence and a brigadier, if this is correct. Okay, now back to Kaiser Kanyako. The salt allegedly, the assault allegedly led to the victim sustaining injuries in her face and chest area. Even worse, a man assaulting a woman at all, but a man assaulting a woman in the chest area. Back to Kaiser Kanyako. Sorry, that was also me. The victim then reported the matter to the police in June 2000.

So it has been reported as the belief for over eight years. However, it's alleged that Khan submitted a warning statement to the investigating officer on 5 July before the docket was submitted to the NPA for guidance and decision. This prompted an investigation into how Khan was able to submit the warning statement prior to the NPA receiving the docket. In other words, how did he get his hands on that? Investigations into the matter revealed that Johnson, without the permission of the NDPP, National Director.

Of Public Prosecutions, allegedly disclosed information to Khan, and they both acted in common purpose to hinder prosecution against Khan. Johnson at the time was not the head of IDAC, as Vincent Cravachen from the Daily Maverick notes in their reporting. She was just based at the NDPP's offices. Kaiser Kanyako said Johnson was charged as an accessory after the fact regarding the assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. You might remember that a crime intelligence officer known as Witness.
