Who's dynamic, who's strategic, who is appreciated by the public, and who has the capabilities to take the fight to the cartels. So I made this decision, and I believe it was the right one. To the mother city now, where public transport services, including bus and minibus taxi services, have resumed normal operations. It follows days of taxi violence and disruptions in the city that have also claimed at least a dozen lives. Extremely long queues also seen at the Cape Town International Airport yesterday.

After half of the airport staff were not able to make it to work because of safety fears. The city's mayoral committee member for urban mobility, Rob Quintus, visited several taxi ranks on Friday. He says joint operations involving the city, the SAPS, and the provincial government, alongside engagements with Santaco, will help ensure safe commuting. Through regular engagement with Santaco throughout the day, as well as joint operations between the city of Cape Town, SAPS, and the Western Cape Government, passed with the movement of people.

Across the metro and with no taxi-related incidents reported. Rise Mzansi's Johannesburg mayoral candidate Lukona Nguni says he has warned against privatization of public assets. Nguni believes it will impact subsidized rates for poor households. Referring to the party's manifesto ahead of the municipal elections, Rise Mzansi.

Has emphasized creating a local government that caters for low-income households. There is no company, private company, that is, in its first and foremost logic, wanting to make profits. That's going to worry about indigent households. And therefore, you will not be able to have control over that. And that will mean that people will be priced out. And then suddenly, they'll not be able to receive something as basic as water. And that cannot be a fair proposition. Several political parties are holding their final rallies today with special voting starting.

On Monday morning, Defence Minister Angie Motshekga has warned that anti-illegal immigration protests in the country could distract the Defence Force from focusing on the upcoming local government election. Protests in places like KwaZulu-Natal will make it difficult for the SANDF to attend to the elections. She says the deployment of 510 soldiers in Kizarin to maintain law and order could impact their election plan and divert their problems.

Priorities. She was briefing members of parliament yesterday on the president's deployment of soldiers to KZN to maintain order during illegal migration protests. We're in elections for the next four days. And Member Powell is right that our most urgent one with joint ops, which has even been making it difficult for us as the defence to attend to our usual work, is the elections one and ongoing meetings around how we support police.
