702, Tuesday afternoon

702 Drive with me, John Perlman. Welcome to the show. The Grampe Commission of Inquiry has been hearing from Fluck Plast Commander Eugene de Kok. He detailed how he could and would have helped to expose who was giving the orders to death squads from the very top. On the 1st of October 1997, I made an appetizer to and gave evidence at the TRC. I said to the TRC that the state has inexplicably declined to sue the generals and politics.

Despite the involvement, and that I was sickened by this choice. So, what should we make of what Decoc has had to say? More on that after five, with journalist Jacques Pose. Jacques wrote about going on at Fluck Plus and the various death squads around the country way back in the 1980s, and then in 2014 produced a two-hour documentary on Eugene de Kok. Jacques, with us, as I said, at about 10 past five. We'll get the link.
