702, Thursday night

70217020725671567. The Delft Interchange, for those who do not know, will have probably thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people using that interchange to get to and from work and school every weekday. It's still busy on a Saturday and maybe cools down a little bit on a Sunday. Scores of people are going to be inconvenienced for as long as

As that interchange is closed because of the death and the incidents reported as a result of the conflict between Codeta and Qatar. We will this morning be speaking to the Western Cape Provincial MEC for Mobility, that's Isaac Sileku. Yesterday, when I was standing in for Leicester on Good Morning Cape Town, I spoke to Santaco's public relations officer, who indicated that there is a meeting planned today that will involve the stakeholders.

And it will be chaired and run by the provincial department. One of the things that Isaac Silegu indicated to us earlier in the week is that Codeta and Qatar are not answerable to the department. They are answerable to the umbrella associations that they belong to, Santaco National Taxi Alliance, and those umbrella associations are answerable to the provincial department. It's the only

Two regional associations that are not answerable to the Westingke Provincial Department out of six, or is it eight, that are in the province? And yet, the conflict caused by Codeta and Qatar has an absolute and immediate effect on the ability of the remaining regional associations to actually conduct their business. So, and I won't even share the details of the disturbing video.

That was shared when it came to the shooting that happened in Delft yesterday. These perpetrators of violence, I don't know whether they're taxi owners, they probably are, or perhaps sent by taxi owners, are literally using rifles to now shoot at people. So it's not gogs anymore, as they call them, where you're shooting one bullet at a time, you're shooting a round of bullets at a time, and you're shooting indiscriminately. Yes, you are targeting gogs.

Drivers and owners, but passengers are starting to fall victim to that as well. And there's nothing more disturbing than watching innocent bystanders who all they're trying to do is get to work, having to run for cover and run for life. It really is scary. In fact, in the one video, this one person is in a minibus taxi and is seeing this sea of people trying to run away from where.

The gunshots are coming. And this poor person is having to duck and make sure that they're not exposed to potential danger. And while the metal of the vehicle may in some way either deflect or soften the blow, but should a bullet go through that vehicle, it will potentially punch that person. I'm having to leave here this morning to go and fetch my nephew from home.
