SAfm, Thursday afternoon

We're party. In the city of Joburg, it's projected that the DA will receive the highest number of votes in the Metro with 33%, followed by the ANC with 20%, then Action SA at 16%. The IEC in the Eastern Cape has opened a case against its presiding officer from Sikaya to local municipality for missing ballots. Provincial Electoral Officer Kayaka Zima Gudumana says 10 out of 20 ballots that were administered during home visits.

On the day of special votes are uncounted for. Briefing the media at the results center in Gugombo City, Magudumana says the fault picked up during the process of results integration on election day. Magudumana says they had to take the ballots elsewhere for a recount with senior staff, but the 10 ballots remain missing. As a result, that voting station has a results leap now and there were no objections. But the 10 ballots remain missing. We've opened a case.

Against the presiding officer. There is an investigation going on as well with the security forces because the storage is not ours. But at the same time, the presiding officer should have detected if there was something wrong with the ballot box at the time she was collecting the box from the storage. The city of Cape Town's law enforcement agencies say they have deployed officers to respond to members of the public stoning vehicles and attacking participants.
