Reacting to MASSIVE 2026 election results!

So I want to come into some of the actual metros now and let us start with what we are seeing in Gauteng. Now, we don't have CSIR projections yet, but by all indications, we are seeing an ANC collapse around Gauteng. So what I would say is look at the low end of the polling averages for the ANC. We had them in our poll of polls or our polling average in and around the low 20.

I wouldn't be surprised now if the ANC just clung on to 20 or maybe even dipped just below that in Joburg. Obviously, the DA looking pretty strong in the Joburg electorate, I would say, probably on the high end of their polling averages. So I wouldn't be surprised at a Joburg number coming in and around 36, 37, 38 right now. But when we get those CSIR predictions, stay tuned for tonight's live analysis. Check out the live stream from about 6 o'clock. We're going to do a full-on

Three-hour mega live stream, and there we should have the Joburg projections. But right now, it's a Joburg, Tani, Ekurhuleni. I'm still expecting DA to be the biggest party on the high side of expectations, ANC on the low side of the expectations. Now, one story that is emerging that I think we need to pay extremely close attention to is the way that ActionSA seems to be performing in Gauteng and indeed nationally. Now, indeed, the CSIR projections have them at 5% nationally. Now, in their first major local

Election overall, they came out at I think around 2.1% because a lot of their vote was actually in the Gauteng metros. Then they fell quite far in 2024 and it looked like ActionSA was on the back foot. Now CSIR projecting them at 5%, they would be extremely happy with that and they would be very, very chuffed with that. And it also looks like they may be overperforming their polling expectations in Joburg, in Tshwane as well. I've even seen in some small Western Cape councils, they've managed to

Get some seats. So far, Action SA looking strong. And we had an interview with Action SA's chairperson, Michael Beaumont, and I'm going to show you that interview as well later today. And have a look out for the channel because that interview will be there as well. So Action SA is looking good in Gauteng, and that's where I'll leave the Gauteng metros for now. Let us have a look at what the CSIR has told us about Nelson Mandela Bay.
