Power FM, Sunday evening

Promise the residents of Johannesburg in terms of administration stability, you know, seeing that we are governed by this volatile coalition type of government. Our commitment. Yeah, all of us are scared. Our commitment is clear. We're very clear in our manifesto as the African National Congress and our action areas that coalition agreements have to be made public. The reason why coalition agreements have to be

made public. You would have voted for party X, Dine would have voted for party Y. Yes. Therefore, once the ANC, and we are working hard not to be in a coalition, by the way. We're working very hard. But in an event that there is a coalition in the city of Joburg, we have to make sure that the coalition is based on service to the residents and it must be made public and there must be minimum agreements, the same criteria that the ANC

Puts on its members of the mayoral committee and candidates. You would recall, ANC has nominees and they were publicly communicated after there were interviews. There is a criteria in terms of the level of experience one must have, and as well as the education and the ability to work within a collective. So, those standards we are not apologetic about. We even see.

Standards of making sure that there are no prior, questionable ethical conduct issues where you are vetted. In the African National Congress, we vet deployees, we vet counselors. So we also will look into those particular areas so that we live up to what we have committed. But number two, we are one of the first to say coalitions, Lirato, must be regulated. We support the coalitions bill. Of course,

As we enter into this administration, it will not be immediately implemented. But we can take some aspects of what is in the coalition bill to make the municipality to function. What causes instability is things that are not written. We have to have written agreements. Yes, because citizens would have queued in the voting polls to vote for a party because they believed in that manifesto and that commitment of that party. But in an event,

There's a coalition, you then have to have written rules so that you can also hold each other accountable as coalition partners. So that you don't gamble and do nigga nigga with resources of an institution like a serofjob at the expense because it will delay service delivery. And there has to be a minimum set framework in terms of this motion of no confidence. The African National Congress does not support this motion, no motion.

Motion of no confidence every council meeting because it means service delivery will never function. Remember, because if the mayor is removed in a motion, the MMC is also the executive has to collapse and you start over. And it affects also the administration in terms of the officials because there's uncertainty. The officials then don't know the strategic direction changes. I mean, we are sitting at executive mayor number nine, and that has had a huge impact in.
