Of Acting Police Minister Firoz Chachalia with regards to the future of the most popular police general in South Africa. Hi, Chris, yeah. You know, it is very difficult to look inside his head to see what exactly he wants, but what we can deduct from his announcement and the process that he put in motion, you know, the head of the hawks is appointed by the minister and not by the

By the national commissioner, but also the other clause must go to cabinet, and cabinet must also approve it. So that means that he submitted the memorandum and he put out the request to cabinet. And only after they agreed on that, you know, the process of appointing him can start. So the reason why the minister came at this stage with this move is very interesting. Okay, remember, we are only

Days away from the elections. And also, we need strong leadership when it comes to that. But what we see that the minister, you know, if you're an acting minister, you will do only semantic changes and so on, because at the end of the day, you know, you don't have that always in practice, the confidence to make very decisive announcements, because you know, in a week or a month's time from now, you may be reporting.

Placed by the new minister of police. So that's why I think it demonstrates the urgency from his side to address organized crime because we know that the Hawks address and they investigate all your serious organized crime cases. So to bring Mukunazi from very interesting because remember, if you look at his background, he

Has been an operational cop. He was in special forces with the task force, and his whole career was on that side of the line when it comes to the police. And we see that when he became the national commissioner, he started to gain some prominence there and make some decisions, or the acting national commissioner. And then later on, when he became the provincial commissioner for KJN, we saw how that leader.

Step to the fourth, and how he managed to also oversee the complicated cases and all the other challenges that you face in KZITIN. We see what he did there. He surrounded himself with a very strong team of competent police officers, and he leaves a legacy in Kazitin. Should he be removed from that position, the province can continue because of the leadership that has been put in place and all the structures.
