In Parliament. And obviously, the ANC saw this as a threat, this party as a threat, this breakaway. And there was a decision taken by some high-ups in the ANC and then there was a use of the ANC's security department who then collaborated with elements in the state security agency to go and infiltrate and disrupt.

The growth of the economic freedom fighters, the politicization of our intelligence services, which has been a problem since the beginning of democracy. Initially, when the ANC took over the country, it was understood that the intelligence services had to be transformed. So a lot of political operatives went in there, and political operatives also went into the police, into the SANDF, and so on. But the intelligence

One was the more dangerous one because you were transforming an institution that had been basically an instrument of the apartheid regime and you're transforming into a democratic institution. But then at the same time, the whole transformation project there got very warped. And it became normal that the intelligence services became an extension of ANC intelligence. And the synergy.

Thing of you have a party, a new party coming up, and this party could eat into your lunch, could eat into your slice of the pie, and you decide to use ulterior means to stem its growth. And so that happened. It is now only being exposed now because the matter is on trial. The former deputy director general.

Of the SSA is on trial now alongside one of his lieutenants. And what we are seeing is just basically an exposure of that, what can I call it? An exposure of the symbiosis that existed between the ANC and the intelligence services. The question now is: did it end?

At the end of Operation Maibuya, or does it continue to this day? MKP claims that they've been infiltrated as well by elements of intelligence, and they claim that that's why they need to be changing guard all the time, firing people left, right, and center, because they realize that there's a plot against them and people internally are working against them, and those people are agents of the SSAC.
