Five women have been found dead around Kempton Park and Olifantsfontein; two have been identified, three remain unidentified, and police say it is too early to confirm a serial killer.

Former SAPS profiler Gerald Labuschagne said police should treat the East Rand deaths as potentially serial until evidence proves otherwise, because a dedicated task team would improve investigations regardless.
