South Africa’s jobs crisis dominated the show, alongside a hard look at domestic worker compliance, local manufacturing pressure and a new green-hydrogen fund.

Unemployment climbed to 33.6% in the second quarter, with 345,000 more people jobless and youth unemployment up to 47.4%; women and black African women were hit hardest.
