Political analyst Tobani Zikalala said voters should judge the DA and other parties by material improvements—water, electricity, roads, schools and jobs—not audit results or emotional loyalty.

Zikalala argued the DA is unlikely to leave the GNU, despite disputes over land reform and employment equity, because remaining inside government offers greater legitimacy and influence.

FOSA leader Debo Komashilompane said poverty affects workers as well as unemployed households, with rising food, transport and electricity costs outpacing wages and grants remaining inadequate.

Komashilompane proposed reducing municipal tendering and directly employing engineers, technicians and IT specialists to improve service delivery, while insisting FOSA is a civic movement rather than a political party.

A proposed merger of Johannesburg, Tshwane and Ekurhuleni into a Gauteng megacity prompted concerns that larger administration could distance decisions from communities without fixing corruption, inequality or failing services.
