Confidence Salema urged listeners to prepare before opportunities arrive, using mentorship, flexibility and teachability to grow into success rather than trying to learn everything afterwards.

Loneliness was framed as emotional disconnection rather than simply being alone; relationships need safety for vulnerability, while persistent loneliness can reinforce withdrawal and harm mental health.

Listeners were encouraged to ask better questions, such as “How are you really doing?”, and remain present for honest answers instead of expecting reliable, successful people to cope silently.

Toolmaking was presented as a technology-driven career spanning design, manufacturing and engineering; a four-year training route can lead to an NQF Level 5 qualification and later specialisation.

Tapiwa Samanga said South Africa has lost about 90% of its tool, die and mould capability since 1990, while one trained toolmaker could create an estimated 27 jobs.
