The 2026 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz festival returns to Sandton Convention Centre on 25 and 26 September, with tickets available through Ticketmaster.

The festival generated more than R34.5 million in direct spending and contributed approximately R86 million to Gauteng’s economy, supporting artists and surrounding businesses.

Joy of Jazz honoured Abigail Kubeka’s enduring influence, with Malaika performing “Ndosiuela” and “Sebakanana” while praising the veteran’s resilience, humility and elegance.

Sculptor and poet Pitika Ntuli announced the Ntuli Foundation, launching on 23 September to create spaces where younger people can engage with the experiences of established icons.

Malaika described her 16-track gospel album, Di Tapelo, as an expression of her Christian faith and said touring plans for 2027 include Botswana and other countries.
