A Saturday Global Roots vinyl hour spotlighting Victor Duplay and Clara Hill, tracing their 2000s collaborations from Berlin studio sessions to Philadelphia-linked production and collector-prized vinyl editions.
- 23:08
Victor Duplay travelled to Berlin with two musical ideas, one becoming Paper Chase, which he and Clara Hill recorded in a Jazzanova-linked studio and co-wrote, with Duplay finishing the production in Los Angeles.
- 23:13
Morena, from Duplay's debut album International Affairs, was co-written with keyboardist and producer James Poiser and blends neo-soul, deep house and a warm Latin influence into a sophisticated club-soul sound.
- 23:36
Did I Do Wrong, Clara Hill meets King Britt's 2006 collaboration, came out as a vinyl with a vocal A side and an instrumental B side, useful for DJs.
- 23:10
Collectors should note the original 12-inch of Paper Chase is listed as sold out on Clara Hill's Bandcamp page, though the release is still available as a digital recording.
