Lebeya takes the stand at the Madlanga Commission
Retired Hawks head Godfrey Lebeya's testimony at the Madlanga Commission dominated news bulletins across 702, Cape Talk, Power FM and SAfm. Lebeya denied knowing alleged cartel member Katiso Molefe or dispatching Hawks members to disrupt an interview, and told the inquiry he was targeted and demoted after investigating corruption within crime intelligence. He also revealed that private investigator Paul O'Sullivan called him seeking classified information linked to the Phala Phala saga, and insisted crime intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo should have looped him in on the 2024 Molefe arrest operation.
