Cultural activist and Prophets of the City artist Dion Daniels, known as Reddy D, was announced as the People’s Movement for Change mayoral candidate for Cape Town.

Reddy D said he would prioritise collective problem-solving over promises, addressing gangsterism, gender-based violence, unemployment and belonging across communities rather than claiming to be a saviour.
