Dr Tara Ferrer Harris said violence against women cannot be addressed by making women restrict their lives; prevention must challenge offender accountability, unsafe environments and toxic social norms.

Ferrer Harris called for positive male role models and fathers to teach boys that disrespecting women is unacceptable, while warning that cycle-breaking must begin in families, schools and communities.

African futurist Rose Phillips outlined eight forms of workplace clarity during restructuring, including roles, priorities, decisions and timelines, so employees can act responsibly without pretending uncertainty has disappeared.

Debt counsellor Rene Munsami warned that survival borrowing uses credit for essentials such as food, electricity and transport, while repeated payday loans can deepen household deficits through fees and interest.

Munsami said debt counselling is a statutory process that can restructure instalments and interest, provide breathing space, and eventually restore a consumer’s credit record through a clearance certificate.
