Muizenberg Heritage Society will fire a ceremonial cannon at noon on Saturday to mark the 231st anniversary of the Battle of Muizenberg; road closures and a 11:15 arrival were advised, and no actual cannonball will be fired.

Preeclampsia was described as a pregnancy-specific complication that can appear after 20 weeks, with 5% to 10% of pregnancies affected and the only cure currently being delivery of the baby.

A new SAMRC extramural research unit at Stellenbosch University will study pre-eclampsia, using a biobank to track severe cases, long-term brain effects, and possible prevention such as aspirin in high-risk pregnancies.
