Kat Matlala confirmed a 15 million rand loan from Suleiman Karim, said their agreement was oral, and repeatedly invoked self-incrimination on alleged tender links, gratification and a police-recording issue.

Matlala said he “actually hate[s]” Brown Mohotzi and claimed their relationship soured after his arrest, despite Mohotzi’s testimony that he introduced Matlala to police networks.

The Commission laid criminal charges against Suleiman Karim after he ignored a ruling to appear and did not undergo an independent medical assessment, a first in the Commission’s history.

Fidel Adams admitted he was untruthful about first contact with Cedric Ngabinde, then faced hard questioning over a classified-document envelope, alleged statement editing, and his role in IDAC-related complaints.

Adams insisted he only reported information as a complainant, denied abusing his access to the Police Minister, and said he wanted intervention to protect the integrity of the investigation.
