Nightfall returned to human-wildlife conflict, fuel-price pressure and Mahendra Raghunath’s broadcasting career, with Cape Town’s baboon relocation dominating the show.
- 22:24
Sixty baboons from Cape Town’s Waterfall and Seaforth troops will be moved together to two semi-wild enclosures at Cochu Fontein: three hectares for 44 animals and two hectares for 16.
- 22:25
The sanctuary will prevent breeding through contraception and vasectomies, allowing the troops to die out naturally while protecting them from shootings, cars, dogs and other urban harms.
- 23:41
Mahendra Raghunath said the SABC reinstated him after a disputed 2008 suspension, but only as a producer, costing him half his income for several years.
- 22:51
Petrol was expected to rise by about R3 a litre, with diesel increasing by roughly R2.84 and illuminating paraffin by R3.58 a litre.

Raghunath now runs media and content training, including film and television production for young people, podcasting, on-camera performance and media interviews for ambassadors.
