Monday's Night Fall led with the US move to drop South Africa from AGOA, the first day of special votes ahead of the local elections, and an AfriForum protest over Eskom's profits.

The US has formally notified Congress and South Africa it will remove South Africa from AGOA, ending its trade preferences from 1 January 2027, after a review cited trade barriers, corruption and security and foreign policy concerns.
