The Madlanga Commission accused suspended MP Fadiel Adams of giving untruthful reasons for a late affidavit, showing email replies from October 2025 and questioning his laptop excuse and claimed memory lapse.

Adams told the commission he fears being hacked, has little faith in parliamentary gadgets, and plans to keep testifying about alleged corruption and crime intelligence documents that led to General Dumisani Kumalo’s arrest.

The case against the alleged mastermind of DJ Sumbody’s murder was postponed four weeks because Victor Majola still has not secured legal fees; his family is trying to raise the money for his defence.

Consumer inflation slowed to 4.3% in July from 5% in June, helped by a 7.8% petrol price drop and softer food inflation, though household costs for electricity, water and other essentials remain elevated.
