Special voting and election security dominated the Midday Report, with the Agrizzi R1.6 billion confiscation order and fear around Cape Town taxi violence also featuring prominently.

   Former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi has been ordered to pay the state more than R1.6 billion after a court rejected his bid to limit the amount to money he personally received.

   Host Mandy Wiener argued Agrizzi is a whistleblower who cooperated with the NPA and Zondo Commission, questioning whether ordering him to pay R1.6 billion is fair.

   At least a dozen people have been killed in taxi-related shootings in Delft, Mfuleni, Khayelitsha and along the R300, and Delft's Palm rank has resumed operations, though commuters remain scared.

   KwaZulu-Natal has 165 voting stations flagged high-risk by police, the most of any province, and more than 480,000 people approved there for early voting.

5. 12:02

   The IEC says 1.9 million approved special voters will cast ballots at voting stations, and officials will not return to homes where approved voters are absent.
